Welcome to Understanding Differences
~awareness, information and support about any diagnosis, loss and bereavement~

Whatever your thoughts, please be kind enough to spend a few minutes to complete the short membership form and remember that there is no obligation to be actively involved by doing this.
Members will receive updates about our organisation which are currently produced yearly and bulletins as our organisation begins to offer more. You may unsubscribe to these at any time simply by using our contact form stating your wishes, more information on benefits are attached.
NOTE: Unfortunately we do not yet have our online data encrypted, whilst the form asks for very minor information we realise that some will prefer to reply by post and others will be happy to scan the form and reply by email.
All email replies will be printed, stored safely and then deleted.
All replies (posted or emailed) will be securely stored, and used for statistical purposes and to send you the updates/bulletins.
We will not disclose your personal details to any third party.

Membership Policy
Becoming a member of Understanding Differences comes with no obligation to participate in our projects.
To improve our services we need to know what you think about our Projects so your feedback/membership helps us improve the UD organisation and tailor our efforts to provide the best service we can offer. it also enable us to provide improved linking with places such as Schools & other Organisations and to provide a network of awareness & information that may promote social inclusion and therefore support.
Membership
Membership is open to those aged over 18 and is divided into three kinds.
1. Family Membership-Parents or guardians of all children who have children who have experienced difficult times [directly or indirectly] where that family may gain or offer supportive knowledge or reassurance or wishing to support the aims of the Charitable Organisation.
2. Affiliate Membership-other individuals interested in supporting the aims of the Charitable Organisation.
3. Affiliate Member Organisation-organisations or bodies interested in supporting the aims of the Charitable Organisation.
All members of the Charity are entitled to one vote at any General Meeting. We aim to hold at least 3 per year, with our AGM around April.
Volunteering for Us
All Volunteers will be asked to complete the same membership form and a separate Application form.
This is to ensure the safety of all involved and to encourage mutually trusting relationships between those already involved and those wanting to be of further help sharing their own skills to further the Aims of UD.
Following policies and procedures will add credibility to how the organisation will operate, it also ensures that we treat everyone equally.
Anyone working alone with Children or vulnerable adults will be CRB checked by us.
