Many of our projects refer to writing as a form of self-help as writing in any form is both personal and individual. For some this can be extremely beneficial; clearing the mind of some of the thoughts that may otherwise remain embedded deeper... as we all know, they may never go completely.

If you have a story to include on this web site, either inspired by your family’s experience or of the experience of a friend that you feel able to share then please click here to contact us so you may contribute.

Alternatively if writing has been beneficial for you then you may wish to look further at the projects detailed within this site.

All stories shared form part of our network to raise awareness and support other families.

Understanding Differences is a self help organisation here to aid families affected by diagnosis, fear, isolation or grief... under one umbrella!

Our Mission is to link with families and organisations to provide a network of information, support and personal knowledge about any diagnosis, loss or bereavement for children and adults.

We are not a counselling service, our aim is to aid families by hosting various self-help activities.

Colour coded funds make any involvement easier, and totally individual, primarily we have 4 sections;
